Can you paint carpet? Most of us have some carpet in our home that we hate, whether it’s the pea green shag from the 70’s, or the ill thought out forest green of the 90’s (I have this too, we should form a support group). New carpet is expensive. Expensive=bad. So there has to be a quick fix right? Hildi from “Trading Spaces” has tried to paint carpet so let’s learn from her results. Here is an article where painting carpet was experimented with. They came to the same conclusion I did, NO. I’d suggest buying a large area rug instead to cover most of the carpet. So basically, when you get paint on your shirt, would you want that on your floor? Would you be comfortable with the fact you would never want to have bare foot on your rug ever again? Only if you are Hildi & it isn’t your house.

After four active children I would definitely say that yes, carpet can be painted though I don’t think Jackson Pollock is what you had in mind.
