One of the few things that I agreed with when I watched “Gone with the Wind” was Scarlett’s attachment to land & home. Even as a child, I understood that feeling, it wasn’t over my head, it wasn’t boring, it was a very real feeling. I think most people have a very strong inclination to own their own Terah, a place that is all theirs that they can pass down for generations & generations. Such a place is real estate in Doraville . Like Terah, these homes are in the South, they are beautiful. They are homes that you will want to pass down to your kids. Plus they are more affordable than you might think so that everyone can own a modern day Terah.
Most people think that white is a color, it should be right? That’s what we learned in elementary school. However, white is actually the presence of all color. White is typically associated with purity & innocence. While I am not a fan of white walls, it does have it’s place in decorating. I love white kitchen cabinets, they look very clean & fresh. The same goes for molding & interior doors, I really don’t think they should be painted any other color. A lot of people will decorate a white room with pops of color. I’ve been a renter way too long & am sick of white walls. So, I decorate a room with color & use pops of white, they really stand out. I think one of the most difficult things in decorating is to make an all white room. A lot of people do this because they can’t decide on a color, or they want the room to feel light & airy. This too often comes off feeling sterile & like an institution. The way this can be achieved is by using lots of textures & mixing in subtle off whites. This color is amazing when you get it right & looks like an insane asylum when you get it wrong.

I live in Utah & it’s been a very cold fall/winter, but it’s Utah, that is pretty much par for the course. However, I have never adapted to this, I am always cold. I wear my coat inside, sometimes I even wear my scarf & gloves. While my coat is cute, it’s not the fashion statement that I was looking for. Frankly, I’m just sick of being cold for over half of the year. That’s why I’ve been looking at wall heaters, there is so much more to choose from than just the basic space heater. They actually have products that will keep your house warm & reduce your heating costs. I really love the new gas & electric fireplaces. I think that every room should have a fireplace & now they can. There’s no excuse for me to be so cold anymore.
One of the biggest ways to change a room for the least amount of money is color. However, there is so much conflicting advice, dark cools make a space look smaller, no they make it look bigger. So I decided to start my own series on color, where I would use certain colors, where I would avoid them, & what they mean to me. Hopefully this will put the matter to rest once & for all because I’m Sarakastic, & as such, I am always right.
