I love to watch Bravo’s “Top Design” it is like “Project Runway” for decorating. Last night’s episode was called “Garage Band”‘ & their assignment was to work together to build a garage for a family that had to include a theatre, office, tons of storage & space for a car. I was really disappointed with the final design, but that might have just been because there were too many requests to fit into one space. I for one don’t really want to hang out in my garage. Here is the break down of the designers last night:
Goil: I don’t know how his designs are always called innovative. Every single thing he has built has been on casters & painted white. It’s only innovative the first 3,000 times you do it.
Ryan: It was a pleasure to see him voted off. It’s decorating! There is nothing socio political about it. Paint some stripes on the wall & then fight a real socio political cause like world hunger.
Carisa: I think she has the most design talent out of anyone, but she’s not someone I would ever want to talk to or be in the room with.
Andrea: She seems cool, she seems to have a good sense of what works, plus she is non-psycho unlike most of the other decorators. I don’t know what happened with last night’s room, even if it had met up to what she designed it still would’ve been an absolute mess. I felt bad for the garage owners.
Matt: I can never remember his name, he hasn’t really made an impression but at least he doesn’t stand out as being horrible.
Michael: I really hated how he tried to pawn off the purple thing on Andrea. There are other colors out there, go & find one.
Erik: Again, it was hard to pick him out of a lineup but I think he & Matt have the most potential. I hope they both try to shine more.
Overall, none of these decorators are really wow-ing me. Anyone of them could’ve been told “See ya later decorator” & I would’ve been fine. If it were me as a judge I would’ve just gone “That’s it! Show’s over! All of you go home”. I will keep tuning in because I have hope for some reason. What were your thoughts on last night’s episode?
