Red has become very popular in decorating. It is the new trend that everyone must have. It’s the new way to express personality, even though everyone is expressing their personality through the same color. However, keep in mind that it sometimes takes 6-7 coats to get the red paint to take, (always use a tinted primer). This is a lot of work, & a lot of paint, so you should really be sure that you love red before attempting this, because it’s something you will want to have around for awhile. I think that an all red room is just too much for most people. I love red accessories though, especially red curtains that really add a pop of color without being too overwhelming. After all, red is often associated with stop signs, danger, & anger. The compliment to red on the color wheel is green. These colors do look nice together, but they also scream Christmastime. Instead try pairing red with a purple for a rich look, or a taupe for a calmer look.

I have two walls in my living room painted red. All 4 would have been too much.
It took the darkest primer they had and I think it took 3 coats of paint.
