Decorating Advice and Paint Colors

I love to decorate my home myself. I recently ran into trouble though when we needed curtains for the front room. However, there were like eight windows so I would have to buy an entire bolt of fabric, but I couldn’t find a store that sold that much fabric. The only plus side to having a decorator is that they have all the connections in their industry. I can decorate, but I have trouble finding really unusual high end things, because a lot of places only deal with professional decorators. That’s why Design Diva Fabrics is so cool. Another thing that I see a lot of but never know how to use are old windows & doors.  These can make great headboards when mounted to the wall.  It’s an expensive designer look that you can get for a fraction of the cost.  The more unique looking the door, the better.   You can even leave on the old hinges if you want too .  If you like the look of the paint, you can keep that too or you can refinish the door in a dark stain for a more traditional looking headboard that is still unique.

It seems like most new homes today look exactly the same inside. I see entire neighborhoods of rows & rows of houses that I can’t tell apart. I wonder how I would ever find my house if I lived in that suburb. In order to distinguish your house from the neighbor’s, you can add upgrades for not a lot of money such as marble fireplaces. That’s right, I said that you can have a marble fireplace for not a lot of money. The secret is to know where to shop.
