When I was in college I was pretty broke, & Mother’s Day was coming up. I couldn’t even afford the $3-$4 for a store bought card, & I wanted my mother to have a nice present. I remembered watching Oprah & she encouraged people to write letters really expressing how you felt about someone. So often we wait until people have passed on to express our true feelings & favorite memories, & that’s a shame.
This can either be done on a handmade card, or a plain piece of paper. It’s a treasure that people will probably keep forever & is just as important as a fancy gift & much better than a generic Mother’s Day card that you just sign your name to.
