Mother’s Day is coming up so fast, that most places won’t be able to ship for Mother’s Day in time. So that leaves shopping around town, trying to decide exactly which card you got for her last year. However, there is still the option of making her something. I stumbled upon instructions for this handmade patchwork quilt. Here are some reasons why you should consider this for a Mother’s Day gift.
- I think it would be fairly easy to get this quilt done this weekend because the patches are quite big.
- You can always tie it with french knots for a more elegant look, because there probably won’t be time to quilt it. If you are really crunched for time, you can just make it a lap size quilt, or even a wall hanging.
- I’ve made several quilts this way, & I’m a sewing newbie, so if I can do it anyone can.
- I love how it doesn’t look like a traditional quilt.
- You can easily turn it into a memory quilt by using scraps of fabric from your old babies or anything else your Mom holds dear.
