I was recently surprised when watching an older episode of "Get Color". I thought that I had seen every episode, but it was obvious that I had missed one, even though I didn’t remember the room. How did I know? Jane Lockhart actually had personality. It wasn’t even "HGTV Host Personality", she was actually funny, really funny. It was quite refreshing to see someone not only having fun with home improvement, but who could laugh at all the little things that go wrong, & the silly ideas that carpenters come up with. It was only this one episode, I wonder if they told her to tone down the sarcasm, but for whatever reason, it’s a shame. So HGTV, if you read this, please bring Jane back.

Take back your house
It seems like whenever someone is moving to a new house, they say it’s because they need more space. I’ve recently realized that I’m actually losing square footage in my house because there are rooms I don’t use. Why don’t I use them? Well, the furniture is outdated, & no longer comfortable, so no one uses those rooms. The rooms that are well decorated, & updated are the places where people gather. Invariably, this seems to be the smaller rooms, which is quite inconvenient when hosting a large group of people.
Furniture seems quite expensive to me, but it’s a lot less expensive then moving. Plus, we’ve had the same living room set for over ten years, & it has made us unhappy every time that we look at it.
