The Most Important Garden Accessory

flag.jpg

One of the most important parts of our garden decor is the American Flag. We of course want it to be displayed properly. There is a local youth group who comes to our house on all of the National Holidays & puts up the flag, & then takes it down & stores it properly. This doesn’t cost a lot of money, but it makes me smile whenever I see it. It reminds me of why I love this country & makes me grateful that I live in it. Happy Fourth of July Everyone.

Make your dreams come true

Even though technically I’m not ready to buy a house, I’ve heard several people recommend having pictures of your dream home around. This helps you to stay focused, & to save your money. It’s a concrete goal, that can keep you working hard. So many times, I forget my goals & think “Oh yeah, I was going to do that, I wish I hadn’t have spent all that money on shoes”. This is why knowing what & where your dream home will be is so important.

So when I saw Charlotte Golf Homes I fell in love. The thing about living on a golf course is that you have a beautiful back yard, that is almost a park, & you don’t even have to mow it. I’ve always been interested in Charlotte Real Estate because it seems so different than life out West where I live. I could definitely use a change of pace. I was looking at The Club at Longview & there seems to be something for everyone, even an activity center & a Youth Lodge, which sounds like a great idea for kids. It has activities for all ages from infants on up, & even has a movie theater. What a great way to meet the other neighborhood kids. Decide on what your dream is right now & then make it a reality.

The 80’s are out…still

80's.jpg

I don’t know if the above picture is actually from the eighties but it sure seems like it. There aren’t actually a lot of differences between the eighties designs and today. However, can you imagine what a huge difference it would make if they choose to take down those silly curtains? The color palette could remain the same, maybe rearrange the furniture a little and bring in a few pops of color.

Then they would have changed the room from 1987 to 2007 just by getting rid of some tired window treatments. If you have of room that you feel is dated first try editing before making any big changes. You’ll be surprised how losing old lamps, curtains, and rugs can totally transform a room. You might not need a complete the remodel.

Knowledge is power

One of my goals is to buy a house. Every once in awhile, I start thinking that maybe it’s time. However, I’m scared of all of the hidden costs, like home insurance. It just makes me want to give up on the idea altogether, because I’ve heard so many people complain about how expensive insurance is.

What I really need is to get educated, so I can learn how much money I would need as a first time home buyer, to see if it’s even feasible. A great place to do this is Insurance.com, they cut down on all the hassle, with a really cool comparison model. You just have to fill out one form, which is sent to several agencies. They even have a call center if you aren’t comfortable sending the information online. Then all you have to do is review the rates. This can save you a lot of money in the long run, & it only takes a few minutes. I need to stop being afraid & start living by the phrase knowledge is power.
