My decorating style used to be very heavy, almost renaissance looking. I loved heavy velvet draperies, & fringe & beads on everything. Eventually, this became overkill, the rooms started to seem dark & depressing after awhile. I started to crave a light & airy feeling with lots of sunshine. This was especially important because I live in Utah, & our winters last forever.
Now my decorating style has changed to more of a Bahamas style. It’s much more light & airy, & can easily be duplicated because it uses bright colors & lots of light, bright paint colors. It’s much more inexpensive than my former decorating style, & even works well when I live in an apartment with white walls. I like to look at the Bahamas Guide for decorating inspiration, & to even find out what kinds of food & restaurants are available in the Bahamas. I plan on taking a vacation to the Bahamas someday, purely for decorating research purposes
It’s a complete change from my old decorating style. I’m a girl, changing my mind is my prerogative.
