
I’ve often heard the analogy that if you put a live frog in hot water, it will jump out. However, if you put a frog in cool water & slowly heat it up, you’ll have a cooked frog. No, this is not a recipe. However, I’m not even sure why such an analogy exists. However, it does say something very poignant about how apathy can creep up on us.
For instance, I used to hate lamps with barrel shades, or porcelain bases. They reminded me of a motel, & that’s not what I wanted my home to be. However, I just kept seeing them & seeing them. The designers would rave about them. Now, I love this kind of lamp, I even own one. I’ve even defended them. Cooked frog, thy name is Sarakastic.
