A very long time ago, when I was a kid, (I’m 25 now) there was much discussion about living on the moon. No one knew exactly why we would want to live on the moon, or how we would live on the moon, it was just take for granted that we would someday. There have been a lot of changes since then. For instance, I remember back in the day, when a phone looked like this:

It had a lot of features, like it could dial, & it came in three colors. Even though I’m only 25 years old I remember how far phones have come. I was around for the invention of the cordless phone, speed-dial, call waiting, caller id & voicemail. Now I don’t have to answer when a telemarkerter calls.
This is what phones look like now:

When I was a kid, I couldn’t even have dreamed of a Video Phone, let alone owned one. Yes, we all thought that we would be living on the moon in the year 2000, but we couldn’t even comprehend a video phone. I would love to own the Packet8 phone which uses a Cable or DSL internet connection to bring video into your house. This is great because my nephews are so cute & I don’t get to see them nearly enough. The phone is easy to use, & can store 100 numbers. It even has echo cancellation which is a problem I seem to have with my current home phone. It sounds like I’m in a canyon. So even though I didn’t end up living on the moon, there has been a huge change in technology in just the twenty five years that I’ve been alive & it’s even more cool than I expected. I’m kind of glad that whole living on the moon thing didn’t really work out.
