What’s up with the curb appeal hosts?

Ok, I had planned on this being the most detailed blog post ever written. There were going to be charts, well at least lists. I have been absolutely consumed by the way that the HGTV show “Curb Appeal” changes hosts. It seems like one season it’s Rick Spence, the next season its a another guy, then back to Rick Spence, then another guy who wasn’t the first another guy, then Rick Spence is back. Does Rick Spence have some kind of contract where he can only work every other year? It reminds me of how “Roseanne” kept changing the daughter that played Becky, like we couldn’t tell.

You’ll notice that this blog post is void of any charts or at least lists. I’ve done my best & checked every site that I can think of. I don’t know if Curb Appeal just has a lot of hosts, or if I’m the only one who cares. Can anyone help me out with this one?

Modern Luxury

luxury.jpg

I actually don’t know what the term “Modern Luxury” means. To my knowledge, I just made it up. I had saved this picture awhile ago with the intention of writing about it. I named the picture “Modern Luxury”, so there you go, pass it on.

I think this picture teaches a great lesson on how to successfully put different textures in a room. (With the exception of the pink rug on the left, it really shouldn’t be there.) Here are a few tips if you want to try this.

  • Have neutrals walls & flooring.
  • Keep the rugs or fabrics within the same color palette. (Again, just pretend that the pink rug doesn’t exist).
  • Keep the patterns somewhat muted.

This is a great way to make any home or apartment feel elegant. Modern Luxury at it’s best. (Minus the pink rug. I repeat minus the pink rug).

Don’t make moving anymore stressful than it has to be

I’m in the stage of my life where I move around…a lot. I’m constantly searching for a nice apartment that I can afford with roommates that I can get along with. Apparently, this is asking too much because I seem to move at least once a year. It used to be that I didn’t need movers. I could just throw all of my possessions in the back of my car & have the process over within a few hours.

Unfortunately, the last place I moved into wasn’t furnished. This meant that I had to bring my own furniture. The worst part was that my family doesn’t own a truck, so we had to find one. I also had to find people to help me move the furniture. Overall, it was just a nightmare. No one wants to help anyone else move. The only way you can bribe your friends to help you is if you promise to help them move. Heaven forbid that you break one of their prized possessions (Yes, that’s happened to me too). It really hurts a friendship.

My point is that I could save a lot of time, stress, & even friendships by using movers next time. Home.bulletin.net has free moving tips & even a moving checklist so you don’t forget anything. You can even get quotes from moving companies. You can find movers whether you are moving somewhere local or to another state within the lower 48 states. Their moving quotes can even include self storage & car shipping. That’s what I call inclusive. Moving in it’s very nature is stressful. Don’t make moving anymore stressful than it has to be. Simplify the situation by getting help.
