Decorating Princess

Turn your home into a castle on a budget

This is the space where I was going to put the pictures of the irises that are on the dining room table.  Do you see any pictures of irises?  No, no you do not.  None of them were blog worthy.  However, I learned that:

The end result doesn’t matter.  I’m much more relaxed just having done something creative.

I don’t really like irises, I don’t really want to own a picture of an Iris, so I shouldn’t take of them just because most other people take pictures of flowers.

I know nothing about juxtaposition or lighting.

Well that’s enough lessons for one day, now it’s nap time.

I just realized that I haven’t updated the art tutorial section in a good long while.  That’s because I haven’t painted in a good long while.  I know, bad Sara, bad.  When I’m not being creative, life just seems to be missing something.  I really need to get back to painting, but it’s just so messy & at times frustrating.  Plus, I don’t want to see how bad I’ve gotten with absolutely no practice. I’m trying to brainstorm some ideas that will bring art back into my life when I’m too tired, or too crunched for time to paint.

Photography.  I know absolutely nothing about this, but I’m always envious of people that can take really good pictures to hang in their homes.

Graphic Art.  I do quite a bit of this, I’ve just started using GIMP & it’s very fun.

Pottery.  This isn’t easily accessible, but it’s something I’ve always wanted to try, although I have painted pottery.

Developing an artistic eye.  This is the easiest one of all because it just requires a few extra seconds to stop & look at something that isn’t considered "art" & find the beauty in it.

Creating Beauty.  This can be sewing, decorating, or even gardening, anything that will surround me with beauty.

I think that’s a pretty comprehensive list, looks like I need to start working on it.
