Every room should have art hanging on the walls, & it seems like a relatively easy DIY project that most everyone tries. However, many people can attest to how difficult it is to get a picture straight, it usually takes two people & a lot longer than one thinks. Especially if you are trying to hang a group of pictures. Now you can use the same picture hangers they use in museums, they even have a built in level! TrackMaster Picture Hangers are finally available to the public so you can get professional results with none of the headache.
Don’t turn into a popsicle
It’s still winter in Utah, no sign of spring here. I’m not really into the whole cold weather thing, which makes me question moving every winter even though I love Utah. To make matters even more interesting I live on the top floor of a three story house, which doesn’t sound like it would be very warm, well it isn’t. So during winter I use space heaters to not turn into a human popsicle. Space heaters are the only way that the third story of the house gets any heat. Up until a few years ago, this meant having an ugly heater to look at all winter. Those days are gone. Now, you can even get a cool electric fireplace that will not only keep you warm, but be a focal point to the room. You can even add mantels over them for a more realistic look. No more freezing for me.

What to do when the room just doesn’t feel right
I’ve argued with several people about whether Feng Shui is actually a phrase. It is, & it’s one of my favorite things to use in decorating. In fact, a lot of people use it & don’t even know it. You know when you walk into a room & something feels off? You bought new furniture, changed the flooring, painted the walls, spent a lot of money redecorating, but it still doesn’t feel right? Feng Shui can gave a room balance & harmony & make it feel “right”. There are a lot of rules, it is an art form all of it’s own, so sometimes it’s good to hire a feng shui consultant. There is a company called Dancing Dragon, (I love the name), that have some of the finest feng shui services in the country in both home & corporate design. Make your room feel “right” again.

Housekeeping 101
We all have our strong points & decorating is my strong point. However, we all have the stuff we aren’t so good at too, & mine is definitely organization. If someone just tells me how to keep things organized then I can keep it that way, but without that, I’m just lost. That is why The Housekeeping Channel is so fantastic. You can just click on whatever room needs organizing & cleaning & you’ll have lots of articles, tools, reviews & even books & videos to help you get things ship shape. There is even a really great article on motivating kids to help with the work, & what parent doesn’t need that? I really love how easy this site is to use. The tips aren’t overwhelming like at a lot of other places, these are things that everyone can do to make their home better. I don’t know anyone who doesn’t want a clean organized house, but most of us just don’t know how to go about doing that. Well, now we have some help!

Safe Candles
I’ll admit it, I love candles, but I’m scared to use them. Yes, I’m scared of traditional candles. When they are light, I constantly watch to make sure my hair, clothes, or anything around the candles is safe from starting a fire. That’s why I was so excited when I saw Battery Operated Candles. These candles would be great to have for emergencies, like a power outage because they run on battery. They even have tea lights & tapers. The candles fluctuate to mimic real candles, the pillar candles even come with a wick! Plus, they have fragrances, just like real candles. There are even color changing candles, I’d like to see a traditional candle do that.
My favorite product has to be the wall sconces. I love wall sconces, I have several, but I’ve never light a candle on them because once again, I’m scared. These are gorgeous & safe! They are everything good about candles, with none of the drawbacks.
