I’ve been waiting to type that title ever since this season of “Design Star” started. The good news first, Rob got eliminated. The challenge was to redecorate Wayne Newton’s house, well his guest house. I had just seen Wayne Newton’s house on MTV cribs. Lots of gold, lots & lots & lots of gold. It wasn’t my taste, so I thought that it was smart that the designers were put in the guest house where they couldn’t hurt anything.
The designers also had to present their rooms on camera. Rob actually did a very good job. However, knowing what I know about him, I could never watch a show that he hosted. He just seemed so fake. Kim also did an excellent hosting job. I still want Todd to win. However, I don’t know how anything that he does will be applicable to the home audience. His ideas are just so out there. They work because he has tons of skills in every area. However, the average homeowner doesn’t have all of those skills. I could see him hosting a show kind of like “Monster House”. Time will tell.

I finally saw last week’s episode of Design Star. Here are my thoughts:
- It’s official, anyone I would have wanted to watch was eliminated. Both Christine & Sparkle Josh were sent home.
- Last season there was a lot of focus on being a good host. After all the winner gets their own show. The only way Rob would make a good host is if the premise of the show is throwing stuff at him.
- Rob can’t design either. It was like he went to the rental store & bought out every single thing in the cheesy section.

Last night, I missed “Design Star”. Darn my lack of TIVO. I had a delightful evening spending time with my family. However, I’m going through “Design Star” withdrawals. Pathetic, but it’s not my fault that it’s such a good show. Don’t blame me.
I can’t help wondering if anyone has kicked Rob yet. Just how tacky did the Vegas weddings turn out? Wait, don’t tell me. I don’t want to know, well I do. Waiting until tonight when the episode air again seems like such a long time. I won’t even mention how I feel about missing the season premiere of “American Princess”. Hi, my name is Sarakastic, & I’m a “Design Star” junkie.

It’s fall which means HGTV has totally changed their lineup. There are very few shows that this channel seems to really hold onto. Then, those shows are subject to new hosts, sometimes several times a season. However, I’m a home improvement junky so I just keep watching.
“Find Your Style” is hosted by Karen from “Design Remix”. I haven’t been able to find any news about “Design Remix”, so hopefully it’s coming back. The premise of “Find Your Style” is that Karen helps people ummm find their style. The cool part of the show is that the homeowner’s go shopping & put the room together by themselves. However, I think that most people can do this on a budget. Karen has great energy as usual, & I’m glad I watched the show, but I won’t be tuning in regularly. I’d really rather watch “Design Remix”.

Last night’s episode of “Design Star” had me torn. The challenge was to decorate a room using only things found at the dollar store. The rooms came out surprisingly well. Scott was sent home because his room looked like a supermarket.
Then it came down to either Sparkle Josh or Adriana to be have their show canceled. I was torn because these were two of my favorite personalities. Adriana was eliminated but I hope she finds her American Dream. Blast Rob for doing so well. The only way that he could be a good show host was if the concept of the show was “run up & kick the show host in the shin”. I would watch that.
