Where in Stars Hallow

sookie.jpg

Yes, I’m still having withdrawals from “Gilmore Girls” ending. If Stars Hallow was an actual place I would move there. So of course, I woke up this morning thinking, “If I could live in any house in Stars Hallow, which one would I pick?”

Lorelai’s house would of course be the first choice. However, what really makes that house a home is Lorelai & Rory, & I don’t think they live there. I’ve never really cared for the way Lorelai decorated, or maybe the white walls bother me. Even when Lorelai got her “new” bedroom set, it looked like something she picked up at a yard sale, & not in a good way.

Emily Gilmore’s house is the most opulent. However, I couldn’t live with all of the antique chairs that you aren’t supposed to sit on.

I think if I could live anywhere in Stars Hallow, it would be Sookies house. I just love all the bright colors & it looks like such a comfortable place to live.

Well, now that I’ve worked all that out, I can go back to sleep.

Color Correction

When I first saw the new show on TV called “Color Correction”, I thought they were talking about hair color. However, I tuned in because Constance from “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” was the host. She is either the best or worst host ever. Either she cares about color more than any one person should, or she’s faking it.

The show in itself in unremarkable, it’s just another color show & I wasn’t really that impressed with the before & after. For instance, if someone has been living with a green kitchen for 20 years, do you just come in & repaint their kitchen green? Color Correction sure thinks so, I don’t.

Design Star Surprise

Tonight’s episode of Design Star was really full of a lot of surprises like:

1. I was surprised that Todd really stood up & took charge.  He seemed like a laid back surfer guy the first episode, but here he was very commanding & driven.

2. I was also surprised at how toned down & tasteful Sparkle Josh’s room was.  I was expecting it to be very Liberace.  However, he really thought about the homeowners & was the saving grace of a sinking ship.

3.  I was also surprised at how not annoyed by Sparkle Josh I was.  In fact, I like him.  I think that he has the best personality so far.

I wasn’t surprised that Green Josh went home, he just didn’t have the personality or authority that a Design Star needs.  I also wasn’t surprised that Neeraja went home.  She was the classic all talk but no skill person that every reality show seems to have.  Also not surprised that Robb annoyed everyone.  We’ll have to see what happens next week, but I think he should go home.

Good Idea, Bad Idea

Here are a few lessons that I learned from last night’s episode of Design Star:

  • Apparently, building a half pipe in the middle of a living room when only one person in the whole house skateboards, is a great idea.
  • Turning the entry way into an art gallery is not. This will get you sent home. It reminds me of last season when they sent Regina(? I think that was her name), home the first episode for her crazy art. I really didn’t think that Lisa’s was the worst space, I liked the designer’s names backwards.
  • Do not let green Josh near power tools. I was surprised they didn’t make a bigger deal about how that piece of wood flew across the room, it could have killed someone. If I were a decorator, I would’ve said, “Your power tool privileges are now suspended, you are grounded from all design. Don’t like it? Bite me. ” That’s probably why I’m not on HGTV.

No one has really stood out yet but hopefully next week, more of their design skills will emerge.

Design Star Season 2

I just finished watching “Design Star” Season 2. I have a few questions, like what will happen to David’s show “Color Splash?”. I really don’t think he has what it takes to stay on the air long term, but he’s just lovable & pretty. I just don’t want him to be kicked out once the Season 2 star needs a time slot.

I thought that the contestants were a lot more varied than last season. I didn’t like the setup of the first show. It was the basic, let’s show you thirty people & get you involved with them & then only let ten of them show up next week. There were a few funny moments, like a woman who couldn’t tell why she wanted to be on Design Star. Looks like there will be a lot of drama this season, but I love this show, I can’t help it.
