If you want to freshen up your living room for 2013 then try a chevron accent chair. This doesn’t need to be fine furniture. This is a bold pattern and it’s available in a lot of daring colors like yellow. It’s going to become dated so don’t base your room around it and don’t spend a lot of money on it. Amazon.com always has some of the cheapest options.

How to Decorate with a Chevron Print
Try a fun and modern color. Turquoise and pink are great for this style. Most of the time this will have a white zig zag effect. If you have a neutral room, or you own a lot of contemporary furniture from IKEA, then this is the way to go.
Find a southwest inspiration. The #4 Avery chair is one of the only traditional chairs I have seen in this style. It uses almost an Ikat inspired feel and the legs and arms are much more traditional than other pieces. If you have a terra cotta color sofa that used to be popular in the Tuscan style this is a way to freshen up your room without getting rid of it.
My favorite color is actually gray for this use because it’s really trendy but it will be somewhat neutral. You could change out the bolster pillow for a bright turquoise and it would even be fun if it was a chevron style too.
Notice that most of these chairs are armless slipper chairs. There is a modified wingback. I like smaller seating and occasional chairs so this pattern doesn’t overwhelm the room but it also means it’s a lot cheaper.
Go retro. If you like the 70s then go with a more irregular zig zag pattern in muted tones like #5.
If your room feels dull it won’t be any more with the addition of one of these pieces.
