I’m lucky that I don’t live in NYC because my apartment would probably cost thousands of dollars per month there even though it’s on the small side. However, I still find it to be slightly claustrophobic even though my furniture is so simple. I’ve found that if my windows are clean and I get rid of any clutter on the counters it immediately helps. How do you help your apartment to feel bigger?

NETFLIX SHOWS

We decided to get clear wireless internet and have been really pleased with it. Before, we had a slow internet connection and were having trouble streaming Netflix on our Blu-Ray player. The shows would always pause. It really put a monkey wrench in your entertainment. Now, we can stream our internet wirelessly through the blu-ray player in our bedroom without a problem. Netflix really is cool and definitely worth the eight dollars a month that you pay for it ( I don’t have the DVD service). They don’t have a lot of new releases that Blockbuster has at the video store, but my favorite thing is all of the television shows that they have. My favorites to watch on Netflix are : “Vampire Diaries”, “Law & Order” ( all the different types), “X-Files”, and a new series called “Portlandia”. I never really get board because I have thousands of things to watch at my finger tips. Now that they stream easily, I have no complaints. I would like to get another blu-ray player for the living room!

Planning for Single Awareness Day
If I know I’m going to be single on Valentine’s Day I try to plan ahead just the same way I would if I was with someone. Then I’m not just trying to get the day over with. I usually buy myself a present. I know some people even order flowers online for themselves. At least then you get to pick the exact blossom you want and one that matches your decor. Serenataflowers.com had several sunflower arrangements. Most florists usually just have one or two. They have modern vases and traditional styles too.
Plus, I can learn about the different symbolism of flowers but I don’t have to follow it. I don’t have to analyze what it means to a relationship. Instead, I can enjoy the flowers for what they are which is beautiful. I had no idea that poppies are an appropriate flower for funerals in many cultures. What are you doing this Single Awareness Day?

I’m obessed with all furniture with the word apothecary in it. I ran across this set that someone on Polyvore created. I don’t know what I would do with all of those little drawers; probably put cd’s in them or something but I’d figure it out.

My Favorite Thing Said on a Wedding Show
I think for any fashionista the pinnacle is a wedding dress. I find it funny that being a bridezilla seems to be such a big trend; as does hiring wedding planners. If you hired someone to take all of the stress off your big day shouldn’t you be relaxed or happy? On a recent show I think it was “Who’s Wedding Is It Anyways?” the planner had a good comeback. He or she said ‘You can’t fix crazy’. They had been fixing all of these problems that didn’t exist but at the end of the day you just can’t fix crazy.
