Easter Baskets for Everyone

Of all of the traditions that I miss from my youth I definitely have to say that the idea of Easter Baskets tops my list. I miss all of the fun pastel colors and small trinkets. Of course we still tend to get Christmas and birthday presents as we get older; but Easter seems to be a forgotten holiday for adults.

This is why I was so excited to see the selection offered at Gourmet Gift Baskets. There are candy and stuffed animal baskets for kids. However, there’s also a selection for adults as well that has dark chocolate and wine, or even packs of gum. In some cases even the “basket” itself is useful by being a watering can. I’m so glad that someone is bringing back the idea of baskets for everyone.

Audrey at Christmas

The creator of this set did a great job of imaging what Audrey Hepburn would look like at a modern Christmas party.

Do you decorate for Valentine’s Day?

heartdecorating.jpg

I know that some people decorate for every single holiday. However, I’m just lucky that the Christmas decorations have been taken down by now. I love to decorate for holidays but by the time I get all of the decorations up & think about having to take them down again, it isn’t fun anymore. Plus, I think it makes the house feel cluttered. I could always just change my blog template, that’s easy decorating. This year I’m just up to putting a picture of a heart in a blog post about how I’m too tired to decorate. Sometimes, less is more.

Whatever happened to the thank you note?

It used to be that sending a thank you note after receiving a gift was a given. At least, that’s the way I think it used to be. I don’t know a lot of people my age that send thank you notes. This is something that I need to think about after all of my Christmas presents. However, I know one person that sends thank you notes, & it makes such a big difference. People always feel appreciated & special when they receive an unexpected letter. Plus, it can be fun to write them.

I know that it’s hard to be motivated to complete such projects. I’ve found that it’s a lot more fun if I can be creative & have fun. Just get some fun stationary & have some custom address labels printed. With address labels you save so much time. Besides the fact that I don’t have the best handwriting, so the envelope looks so much nicer with a label on it. I was just looking at Vista Print, I’ve ordered business cards from them before & was very impressed with their service. Vista Print is also really affordable. They have a fantastic selection of address labels. You can even upload your own design. They have a lot of design templates to choose from that you can browse by subject. There is even a design wizard that can help you find the perfect label. One of the examples shows a wedding portrait. This would be great if you are sending thank you notes for your wedding. Bring back the thank you note & see what a big difference it can make.

When do you take down the Christmas decorations

For some people, taking down the Christmas tree is sad.  For me, I’m usually sick of all of the clutter & can’t wait to get everything back to normal.  Well, the one bright side to so many Christmas decorations is that dusting is just futile. So, we usually take down the decor on January 1st.  How about you?
