I was just trying to figure out what the big decorating themes are for this year. It used to be so simple like modern or Tuscan styles. It was obvious and widespread. However, now it’s just way too difficult to tell. People are customizing it more to their space and lifestyles and putting their own take on it. Sure it looks great it’s just makes blogging a lot more difficult. It isn’t easy to copy an entire room style anymore but this can also lead to smaller budgets too.

Spring Cleaning
I hate spring cleaning but I love the feeling of it being done. Sometimes there’s chores that I don’t even know they’re bothering me until they are finished. I just steam cleaned the carpets last weekend and I’m amazed at how much better the carpet looks. It’s fluffier and has its spring back.
I was looking through The Steam Team website and found a lot of points to why it’s necessary to clean carpets that I didn’t even know about. They help with all kinds of cleaning even round rock tx water damage situations. Sure, I knew that carpet could hold a lot of odors in it. I didn’t think I had a problem with this because I don’t have kids or pets. However, it says that carpet can even absorb cooking odors. However, since I have a great room design it makes sense that my living room carpet would trap smells. I’m definitely going to have this become part of my regular spring cleaning schedule.

Design Trend: Nail head Trim
My favorite new design trend has to be nail head trend. We just used to see this on basic upholstery as trim. Not it’s much more of an accent. You can find it around lots of lamp shades. My favorite use is to create a pattern with it on a buffet. It does take a lot of work to actually do this yourself so I’m hoping that the trend becomes so big that it becomes cheap on the mass market so I won’t have to try it as a DIY project. Kitchen Trends: Stainless Steel
I always like to find the most expensive materials in kitchens that I can’t afford. Then I look for other ways to use them. For instance MetalStainlessSteelTiles offers discounts of up to 70% on backsplash tiles. They cut out a lot of middlemen by both importing and selling the stainless steel tile directly.
I’ve usually just seen these mosaic tiles used in kitchens but there were some great photos of this such as a fireplace surround that made me jealous. There was a large variety of patterns available. While I can’t afford stainless steel appliances there are other ways to use this material in a kitchen that are still affordable like stainless steel tiles.

Rory & Logan
I’m not a huge Rory and Logan fan. They are my least favorite Gilmore Girls couple. However, I really do admire a lot of how they actually look. They are a very cute couple. Are you pro Rory & Logan?
