New Color!

I added some new color to my guest bathroom. I have a lot of white in there but had decided I was sick of the brighter colors I’d used before. However, it still needed to be bright just because I don’t have a window in that room. I settled on turquoise and also took out almost all of my accessories and am now just a lot happier with it. To me at least turquoise is bright and cheerful without being annoying.

What Are The Big Decorating Themes?

I was just trying to figure out what the big decorating themes are for this year. It used to be so simple like modern or Tuscan styles. It was obvious and widespread. However, now it’s just way too difficult to tell. People are customizing it more to their space and lifestyles and putting their own take on it. Sure it looks great it’s just makes blogging a lot more difficult. It isn’t easy to copy an entire room style anymore but this can also lead to smaller budgets too.

If I was braver I would definitely go with a Moroccan room. Instead, I’d probably end up with more of a global inspired look. I’ll skip the dark paint colors and the obvious accessories. I’ll just use a few simple lanterns and rugs. If I had my own home though I would use a deeper eggplant color. What decorating style would you tackle if you were braver?

Does Anyone Actually…?

Does anyone actually ever implement their Pinterest room designs? I see really great ideas that are usually just too astronomical for anyone to do like adding in a slide instead of a staircase. It sure would be fun though. However, in a way this site just makes me more dissatisfied with my home. It seems like everyone else gets to have so much cool stuff. Then I realize that most people are just like me and pinning ideas that they’ll never use. Does anyone actually get most of their Pinterest projects done?

Spring Cleaning

I hate spring cleaning but I love the feeling of it being done. Sometimes there’s chores that I don’t even know they’re bothering me until they are finished. I just steam cleaned the carpets last weekend and I’m amazed at how much better the carpet looks. It’s fluffier and has its spring back.

I was looking through The Steam Team website and found a lot of points to why it’s necessary to clean carpets that I didn’t even know about. They help with all kinds of cleaning even round rock tx water damage situations. Sure, I knew that carpet could hold a lot of odors in it. I didn’t think I had a problem with this because I don’t have kids or pets. However, it says that carpet can even absorb cooking odors. However, since I have a great room design it makes sense that my living room carpet would trap smells. I’m definitely going to have this become part of my regular spring cleaning schedule.
